Galvez Football - 2026 Season Our summer conditioning / weight-lifting program for Galvez Pirate football will start on Monday, June 29, 2026, and end on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. All workouts will be on Monday & Wednesday from 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM at Galvez Middle School. Student athletes should be dropped off in the car-rider line by the office for practice. Please arrive before 5:00 PM (workouts will begin at 5). The workouts will be supervised by Coach Scanlan & Coach Chavis. If you have any questions, please email: arthur.scanlan@apsb.org Call 225-391-6368 (office) *Football Tryouts: will be Monday, August 3, 2026, from 5 - 7 PM at GMS - please wear football cleats if possible. *If you make the team, Practice begins - Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 5 - 7 PM *The purpose of our summer program is to: • Start learning the playbook (playbooks will be distributed at summer workouts) Develop good work habits • • Build team unity . Develop strength • Build endurance through various running drills • Learn the fundamental skills for offense and defense • Begin getting acclimated to the summer heat ―There is NO CHARGE for this program -- it is NOT mandatory -- and it DOES NOT guarantee your child a position on the team. We believe that the foundation for having a successful program starts with our summer workouts. It is best that your child makes as many practices as possible. This will provide them the opportunity to grow and develop responsibility and commitment to a team and schedule. Thank you - Coach Scanlan
