Programs are FREE and open to current SOPHOMORES (Class of 2028), JUNIORS (Class of 2027) and SENIORS (Class of 2026) a stipend of $750-$1,452 will be awarded upon successful completion.* Students must provide their own transportation. Deadline dates: Seniors ONLY: Monday, April 27 Juniors & Sophmores: Friday, May 8 https://forms.gle/VkVewp1SrY89rDuH9 Below are the programs available for the summer of 2026: ADOBE VISUAL DESIGN May 27 June 22, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM | Location: East Ascension High School $1,300 stipend upon successful completion* If certification is obtained in both programs, an advanced Visual Design Specialist Certification will be awarded to the student. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This course introduces students to two Adobe software packages, Photoshop, and InDesign which are the industry standard in today's workplace. Students will learn the process of editing images and graphics in Photoshop; and create layouts for magazines, newsletters, and printed publications in InDesign. Knowledge of skills will be demonstrated through practical, hands-on learning experiences. Students have the potential to earn a national certification in both of the software packages, which awards an advanced credential and allows for recognition at Senior Awards Night and graduation. BUSINESS BUNDLE May 27-June 22, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM | Location: St. Amant High School $1,300 stipend upon successful completion* PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Students will learn from a variety of methods including classroom instruction, virtual assignments, and educational games. Students will earn the National Retail Federation Business of Retail: Operations & Profit and Customer Service & Sales Credentials, which awards an advanced credential and allows for recognition at Senior Awards Night and graduation. CTE INTERNSHIP - INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY May 27-June 24, 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM | Location: East Ascension High School $1,452 stipend upon successful completion* Must have 1 of the following certifications: IT Fundamentals, Operation Spark, CompTIA A+, Adobe, Drones, Fundamentals of JavaScript, Functional Programming & Web Development, Drafting, Business of Retail, or Micro-Enterprise Statewide. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: IT Internship allows for students to see theory in action from not only the IT aspect, but they will also be able to learn how business owners/companies make purchasing, inventory and financial decisions related to IT. Students will be working at various primary, middle and high schools. The job duties include, but are not limited to, cleaning devices, powerwashing and reimaging devices, maintaining inventory and setting up computer labs and peripherals. Students must provide their own transportation to and from EAHS and assigned internship sites. NCCER CORE WORKPLACE SAFETY May 27-29 and June 8 - 23, 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM | Location: East Ascension High School $750 stipend upon successful completion* No certifications required to participate. Preference will be given to first-time ABC students needing NCCER Core Certification for NCCER Electrical, Millwright and Pipefitting enrollment in the fall. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This course is a prerequisite to all other Level 1 craft curriculum. Topics include Basic Safety, Communication Skills, and Introduction to Construction Drawings. Students have the opportunity to earn NCCER Core certification. "The LDOE and APSB require successful completion of the program (coursework, credential, and attendance) in order for a student to receive the stipend. In the case that a student does not successfully complete the program (coursework, credential, and attendance) they will receive none or a portion of the stipend. The amount of a student's stipend can decrease due to any of the following reasons: poor attendance, lack of class participation, inadequate completion of assignments, or not earning the credential.
